Sun Office Products Green Program

Product Selection

We currently carry over 3,700 products in our catalog and our Website with recycled post consumer waste; just look for the green recycle icon next to the product.

Sun Office products is also committed to lowering your cost of business by providing consulting on a wide variety of alternate products that provide higher yields and thus lessens the amount of plastics and other petroleum based products. From markers to printer consumables and more; in many cases these are brand name items and as always, we stand 100% behind every product we sell.

Toner and Print Cartridges

We will always accept returned empty toner and ink cartridges for recycling. Our delivery personnel will never refuse to take these off of your hands and out of your way! We in turn send these to our Compatible manufacturers who re-use the plastic “shell” in manufacturing new cartridges. Ask your Account Manager about setting up an automated returns process for these products.

Also, inquire about our compete line of Compatible Toner and Ink Cartridges. Our customers are experiencing savings of up to 50% over the OEM price on these products with no reduction in print quality or page yield. These compatible products are manufactured with 100% new internal components; the outside casing, or “shell” is the only recycled component, and also happens to be the piece the uses the most energy to produce. We also fully stand behind these products; if it is determined that one of our compatible cartridges causes damage or destruction to any printer, we will repair or replace the printer, no questions asked.

Today’s statistics:

  • We produce 12-13 billion tons of garbage each year, which is 4 1/2 pounds per person  per day! This would make a 12 foot high wall from LA to NY!

  • By the end of the century, we will run out of landfills unless new ones are built

  • In 1993, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) closed 70% of the landfills due to the new standards.  This caused higher disposal pick-up rates, which will continue to rise.

Recycling statistics:

  • 70% of waste is paper

  • Recycling Sunday newspapers will save over 500,000 trees every week

  • 2,000 pounds (one ton) of paper will save 17 trees, 3 cubic yards of landfill space and 380 gallons of oil

  • Newspapers are said to be biodegradable, but newspapers have been found that are 35 years old and still readable

  • The average office worker generates an estimated half pound of recyclable paper per day. Based on 20 working days per month, an office employing 20 people would generate 200 pounds per month or more than one ton per year.

Aluminum statistics:

  • One recycled can saves enough energy to operate a television for 3 hours

  • It takes 400-500 years for a can to disintegrate

  • Making one new can uses the same amount of energy that it takes to recycle twenty!
